The Baroosta

The Baroosta carefully crafts himself a cappuccino before he starts his busy day and basks in the serenity of the early morning light.

This painting is my first exploration of the techniques of underpainting and glazing, and a loving tribute to Vermeer, with the ultramarine blue elements, soft lighting, pointillism on the bread, and the pouring of the milk.

Right, that’s enough peace and quiet… time to go annoy some hens.
